In view of the introduction to the basic concept of traffic engineering, the core technology in traffic engineering is studied systematically, and then difficult points, methods in calculating and selection of metric parameters are discussed deeply in constraint-based routing technology. And feasible further advances in the constraint-based routing are proposed based on the analysis of the existent problems.
